Why Wooden Beds Are Still the Smart Choice in 2025

Wooden beds continue to outperform plastic or metal options for one simple reason: they’re built to evolve with your child’s life - not just their room decor.

  • Built to Last: Solid wood frames stay strong through every growth spurt.

  • Safe by Design: No sharp edges, and no sketchy finishes.

  • Adaptable Style: Goes with any theme - from playful to minimal.

  • Sustainably Made: Brands like Purveyor 15 use real, locally sourced poplar wood and eco-conscious methods.

2025 trend to watch: Parents are increasingly skipping mass-produced beds for small-batch, responsibly built designs. Purveyor 15 is ahead of the curve - offering heirloom-grade options with modern functionality.

Safety First: What Parents Should Never Overlook

Here's the 2025 safety checklist we recommend to every family:

✔️ Rounded edges, smooth corners

✔️ Slats have been tested for safety spaced

✔️ Guardrails at least 13 cm above the mattress on bunks or lofts

✔️ Absolutely no wobble - tight joints only

✔️ Adhere to weight limits and assembly instructions

✔️ Non-toxic finishes only

✔️ For bunk beds, never let kids under 6 on the top bunk

Why it matters: At Purveyor 15, beds are hand-inspected and packed before shipping. No mass-production shortcuts, no corners cut - literally or figuratively.

5 Smart Questions to Ask Before You Buy

  1. How long will this bed last?
→ Avoid particle board. Stick with solid wood that can be refinished, repainted, and passed down.

  2. Will it fit the room and leave space to play?
→ Measure everything! And don’t forget ceiling height for bunks or lofts.

  3. What’s the style - and will it grow with my kid?
→ Natural finishes or whitewashed woods tend to outlast fads. Purveyor 15’s timeless designs make redecorating easy.

  4. Is it sustainably made?
→ Look for FSC-certified wood and U.S.-based craftsmanship - two hallmarks of Purveyor 15 builds.

  5. Does it come from a brand I can trust?
Purveyor 15 is a small, U.S.-based workshop with real people behind every order—no dropshipping, no factory shortcuts, and customer support that actually responds.

About our Poplar Wood:

This is an all-natural wood product. There may be slight color variance between pieces. We use a top of the line FAS grade poplar wood, which is by definition defect-free but may contain a few smaller, less noticeable knots.

At times you may receive a piece that has a green tint to it. This is because we mill the wood down in-house revealing a layer to light and air for the 1st time.  This will fade to light browns and tans within a few days depending on airflow and UV light in the room.

Cleaning and Care: Keep That Wood Looking Good

  • Weekly: Wipe with a soft cloth to avoid buildup

  • Monthly: Check all joints and tighten screws if needed

  • Seasonally: Inspect for splinters, chips, or uneven wear

  • As Needed: Use a mild soap and damp cloth for sticky messes—no harsh chemicals

  • Mattress Tip: Rotate every 3 months to extend lifespan

Pro tip: With real hardwood, scratches or dents can often be sanded out and waxed. That’s why Purveyor 15 beds can last through childhood and still look brand new.

Invest Once, Sleep Well for Years
