A Peak Inside Taylor's Home: Bringing The Guest Bedroom to Life

A Peak Inside Taylor's Home: Bringing The Guest Bedroom to Life

When my husband and I moved into our new home in Nashville last September, I knew I wanted to take my time decorating—letting each space evolve as I found pieces that truly spoke to me. Room by room, I’ve been thoughtfully curating our home, choosing items that feel intentional rather than just filling a space for the sake of it.

One room that had been waiting for its moment? The guest bedroom. I wanted this space to feel warm and inviting—somewhere guests could truly relax and feel at home. And from the very beginning, I knew it would center around one key piece: The Acadia Canopy Bed.

A Dreamy Canopy Bed Moment

I’ve dreamed of having a canopy bed since I was a little girl, and I knew this was the moment to make it happen. There’s just something about a canopy bed that feels both classic and statement-making—it creates a natural focal point and gives the room an instant sense of charm and coziness.

The Acadia Canopy Bed is the perfect mix of modern and timeless. It has clean, structured lines that feel contemporary, yet the canopy frame and headboard give it a touch of old-world romance. I also love how versatile it is—it can be styled minimal and sleek or layered with soft, dreamy textures for a cozier feel. Plus, it’s incredibly sturdy, which was a big selling point for me since I wanted something that would last for years to come.

A few months ago, my husband helped me assemble the bed, and as soon as it was in place, I knew I had made the right choice. It instantly elevated the space, making it feel more intentional and polished. But while the bed was perfect, I struggled to find the right pieces to complete the room. I wanted every detail to complement the bed and enhance the cozy-yet-inviting vibe I was going for.

Adding Life and Color

For months, the space felt unfinished. I wasn’t willing to rush the process, but I also didn’t want it to feel bare and uninspired for too long. My first step? Adding a tall, leafy tree in the corner to bring in some color and height. The pop of green instantly made the room feel more alive, but I knew I needed more to truly make it feel like a finished space.

Then, as the weather started warming up, I decided it was the perfect time to give the room a fresh spring refresh. That’s when I found the piece that would tie everything together—a red, pink, and green floral duvet at Home Goods.

The Perfect Spring Bedding

The moment I saw this duvet, I knew it was a match made in heaven. It screams all things FUN and HAPPY and SPRING! The vibrant florals brought just the right amount of color to the neutral space, and it was exactly the fresh, cheerful touch I was looking for. I paired it with large, ruffle-y pillows that add a bit of whimsy, and suddenly, the room transformed into something truly special.

A Favorite Space in the Making

Now, this room is quickly becoming one of my favorite spaces in our home. It’s bright, welcoming, and layered with details that make it feel warm and inviting. The Acadia Canopy Bed remains the star of the show, and I love how everything I’ve added complements it rather than competing with it.

There are still a few finishing touches I want to add—maybe paint or wallpaper the wall, and some artwork—but for now, I’m soaking in how far this space has come. And I can’t wait for our guests to enjoy it as much as I do!
