Summertime Fun: A guide for you and your family

Summertime Fun: A guide for you and your family

Summer has officially arrived, and that means it is time to be in the sun, have fun by the pool and run around chasing your kids through the sprinklers. Here are a few of our favorite summer activities that will keep the entire family entertained!

#1Have a picnic

Picnics in the summertime go hand-in-hand, and it is one of the easiest things to do! Find a nearby park, make some sandwiches at home, grab some sides (we love fresh watermelon and grapes), and go enjoy your day eating outside!

#2Make tie-dye shirts

Growing up, tie-dye shirts were my family’s go-to in the summertime. Just pick up a pack of white t-shirts, some rubber bands, and dye. Oh! And don’t forget to lay a few trash bags or newspapers on the ground!

Tie the shirt off using the rubber bands and apply the dye. You can find fun designs and patterns with a simple Google search. We promise this will be a fun family memory for years to come!

#3Have a water balloon fight

Water balloon fights are a fun way too beat the summer heat!

Divide everyone into teams and designate a color of water balloons to each team. The great thing about this is there really is no winner, but everyone is sure to have a good time.

#4Fly kites

You are never too old or too young to fly a kite!  You can either buy one or make your own with fabric, sticks and some string, and take it outside and let the summer breeze do the rest.  I remember when I was a kid, it was exciting to see more than one kite soaring high in the sky!

#5Make homemade popsicles

Homemade popsicles taste so good after spending time in the heat, and they are super simple to make.  Grab some fruit juice or puree fresh fruit to make your own (dilute with some water) and put them in a popsicle mold. Before you freeze them, add some sticks and place foil over the top to keep the sticks in place.  Enjoy after a long day in the sun!

We hope you all have the best time this summer making memories with your family.
