Marlowe’s Magical Room Makeover: A Space to Dream, Play, and Grow

Meet Sarah Roulstone—a talented photographer, devoted mom, and the creative mind behind a magical room makeover for her daughter Marlowe. With two fearless little ones, Marlowe (4.5) and Lennon (2), Sarah’s days are filled with adventure, crafting, and her trusty camera capturing it all. But amidst the whirlwind of parenting, Sarah wanted to give Marlowe a room that was truly hers—a space to play, sleep, and grow.

A Room Inspired by Marlowe

From the start, Sarah knew Marlowe’s personality and preferences would guide the design. “While I wanted to surprise her with the final result, she had a ton of say on what she wanted,” Sarah shared. One of Marlowe’s first requests? To repaint her accent wall to match the rest of the room. For Sarah, it was bittersweet—she’d painted that wall when Marlowe was just “a tiny little lemon” in her belly.

To bring the room to life, Sarah scoured thrift stores for unique artwork, vintage books, and cozy throw blankets. Each find added a personal touch, turning Marlowe’s room into a warm, inviting space. “We still have more to hang, but it’s coming together beautifully,” Sarah said.

The Perfect Bed for a Growing Imagination

The centerpiece of Marlowe’s new room is her Ozarks House Bed from Purveyor 15—a choice that was as practical as it was playful. “We selected this bed frame so she would have something she could grow into, but also something she could play on and with,” Sarah explained.

And play she does! Marlowe’s imagination turns her bed into a castle where she’s Elsa or Anna (depending on the day) while her brother Lennon takes on roles ranging from “the baby” to “the Daddy.” On other days, the bed becomes a jungle gym for two fearless monkeys.

Sarah loves that the bed isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a cornerstone of Marlowe’s play and creativity. “The addition of the Purveyor 15 bed has really created a space where she can play, sleep, and grow into her own.”

A Space to Call Her Own

One of the most rewarding parts of the makeover has been seeing Marlowe’s excitement about her new room. “Marlowe is obsessed. She definitely feels like this is her space,” Sarah said. Marlowe has been spending more time in her room, playing and even rearranging things to make it her own.

For Sarah, watching her daughter claim the space is both heartwarming and bittersweet. “It’s hard watching your kids grow up, but in the same breath, it’s also fun to see their personalities and preferences develop.”

With her Purveyor 15 bed as the centerpiece, Marlowe’s room isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a reflection of her vibrant imagination and the perfect space to grow up fearless.
